So here we are with one last bread bake before our summer break. If there’s a loaf you’d like to try but haven’t got around to, or want to stock up the freezer with some favourites, this is your last chance before September. So whether it’s one last babka or some Fat Whites to last the summer through, get ordering. We will be back baking again in September.

Can we remind you that to make sure our return is bigger and better we have a super-quick online survey here that should take you only a minute to do. We’ve had a good response so far, but make sure you do fill it out to have your say on our future bakes and operation as we’ll close the survey in a week or so.

And if you’re looking for something different to do with the kids during the holidays we have two family Introduction to Baking Days on August 5 and 6th (same course runs both days). Full details and bookings here.

Our weekly specials

Stoke Slider – The perfect super-sized soft bun for summer eating in two versions: a tasty round bun to wrap around burgers, or as a long nest for a hot dog sausage
Order Round (topped with sesame) or Longs 120g buns 75p each £4.00 for 6 – mix and match is fine eg 2 round, 2 long. (V)

Teacakes – 100g Fruit loaf but in a tea cake (V) 4 for £2.50

Babka Roses – 120g Poppy seed filled sweet treats- like a Chelsea Bun but with a hint of Middle Eastern flavours (V) £1.00 or for even better value buy a whole ‘Rose’ of seven for £6.30.

Challah – 1000g A rich brioche style loaf topped with sesame seeds (V) £3.50

Taster pack Choose 4 mini loaves (200g each) from: Rye and Caraway, Challah, Staffordshire Cob, Focaccia, Malthouse £3.00

Fat White – 800g A not completely white split tin loaf, made using a 24 hour proof for a deep bread flavour (V) £2.00

Staffordshire Cob – 600g Made with a base of white and wholemeal organic bread flours, a good dose of medium oatmeal for a creamy crumb, shot through with sunflower, pumpkin, sesame and poppy seeds for a good crunch (V+) £2.20

Malthouse Baton 600g a short granary baton with wheat flakes for a dark chewy, malty bread – great with cheese (V+) £2.00

Focaccia 600g Italian classic with 2 different toppings: rosemary and sea salt, or olives (V+) £2.20

Rye and Caraway 600g Beautiful light rye sourdough with the great flavour of caraway (V+) £2.20
