Bread in Common

Stoke-on-Trent's real bread bakery

We currently offer two Bakery courses:

An introduction to bread making

We will be trouble shooting your bread, building your confidence, and getting you baking-tastic by the end of the day. No previous experience required. You get a lovely day in the bakery, a lunch and you’ll go home with your delish bakes and the recipes to keep you baking.

Intermediate bread making

Taking further steps into bread making including using yeasted pre- ferments, wild yeasts and some breads from across Europe- some experience is necessary to get the most out of this course. You’ll spend a day in the bakery with a lunch and the recipes and your bakes to take home at the end of the day.

2023 Course Dates

    We've had great student feedback:

“I’ve just had the pleasure of completing a Bread in Common Workshop day and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, as well as gained valuable guidance and tips on making my own bread! If anyone cares about what goes into their food (and of course enjoys bread!) then this course is a must, as well as being a lot of fun!!”

"I did the introduction to bread making course with you and since then I haven’t bought a single loaf of bread. I make all my own bread using 700g wholemeal flour and 300g white flour… I know you do the courses to try and get people making their own bread so I wanted to let you know that in my case it has worked. I love making it and it tastes so so good."
